# Item Remover

The Item Remover permanently destroys a chosen item from your inventory — it's the only way to clear account-bound gear that you can't drop, sell, or store.

## Why you'd use it

Your starter pack and free job gear (see [Free Job Gear, Weapons & Tools](/wiki/jobs-and-classes/free-job-gear.md)) are account-bound. Bound items can't be dropped, sold, or put into Kafra storage, so if you want them gone — to free up bag space or just tidy up — this NPC is the only route.

## How it works

1. Talk to the Item Remover and it lists every item currently in your bag, with quantity and its `[equipped]` / `[bound]` status.
2. Pick the item you want gone.
3. Confirm the deletion — you're shown the item name one more time before anything happens.
4. Once confirmed, the item is destroyed immediately.

## Rules

* **Deletion is permanent.** There are no refunds and no way to recover a destroyed item — double-check before confirming.
* Works on both bound and unbound items, including equipped gear.
* If your bag is empty, the NPC will simply tell you there's nothing to remove.

Take a moment before you confirm — once an item is destroyed, it's gone for good.
