# Class Progression Tree

Every job line on DewataRO follows the same shape — Novice, 1st Job, 2nd Job, Rebirth, 3rd Job, 4th Job — whether you're swinging a sword, casting spells, or summoning as a Doram.

## The Six Core Job Lines

At Novice you pick one of six base classes, then branch into one of two 2nd jobs. From there, Rebirth carries you into the transcendent form, then 3rd Job, then 4th Job.

| 1st Job | 2nd Job | Rebirth | 3rd Job | 4th Job |
| -------- | ------------- | -------------- | ------------------- | --------------------- |
| Swordman | Knight | Lord Knight | Rune Knight | Dragon Knight |
| Swordman | Crusader | Paladin | Royal Guard | Imperial Guard |
| Mage | Wizard | High Wizard | Warlock | Arch Mage |
| Mage | Sage | Professor | Sorcerer | Elemental Master |
| Archer | Hunter | Sniper | Ranger | Windhawk |
| Archer | Bard / Dancer | Clown / Gypsy | Minstrel / Wanderer | Troubadour / Trouvere |
| Acolyte | Priest | High Priest | Archbishop | Cardinal |
| Acolyte | Monk | Champion | Sura | Inquisitor |
| Merchant | Blacksmith | Whitesmith | Mechanic | Meister |
| Merchant | Alchemist | Creator | Genetic | Biolo |
| Thief | Assassin | Assassin Cross | Guillotine Cross | Shadow Cross |
| Thief | Rogue | Stalker | Shadow Chaser | Abyss Chaser |

Bard and Dancer (and everything downstream of them) are locked to your character's sex.

For the exact base/job level gates at each arrow, see [job-master.md](/wiki/jobs-and-classes/job-master.md), [level-caps-exp.md](/wiki/jobs-and-classes/level-caps-exp.md), and [rebirth-guide.md](/wiki/jobs-and-classes/rebirth-guide.md).

## Expanded Starter Classes

Taekwon, Ninja, Gunslinger, and Super Novice are also pickable straight from Novice, alongside the six core classes above. Their lines skip Rebirth — there's no transcendent form — but still climb through their own advanced classes up to a 4th job:

| 1st Job | Advances through | 4th (final) Job |
| ------------ | ------------------------------- | ------------------- |
| Taekwon | Star Gladiator → Star Emperor | Sky Emperor |
| Taekwon | Soul Linker → Soul Reaper | Soul Ascetic |
| Ninja | Kagerou (male) / Oboro (female) | Shinkiro / Shiranui |
| Gunslinger | Rebellion | Night Watch |
| Super Novice | Expanded Super Novice | Hyper Novice |

Full detail on these lines, including their in-between requirements, is on [expanded-baby-classes.md](/wiki/jobs-and-classes/expanded-baby-classes.md) and [fourth-jobs-trait-stats.md](/wiki/jobs-and-classes/fourth-jobs-trait-stats.md).

## Doram

Doram characters follow their own single line instead of the Novice tree above: **Doram → Summoner → Spirit Handler**. Like the expanded starters, this line skips Rebirth and the 3rd Job tier. See [doram-summoner.md](/wiki/jobs-and-classes/doram-summoner.md) for its separate EXP table and level cap.

## Baby Classes

Every line on this page — the six core classes and the expanded starters — also has a parallel Baby version, playable if you have a partner character. See [expanded-baby-classes.md](/wiki/jobs-and-classes/expanded-baby-classes.md) for the full Baby family.

## Where to Change Jobs

All job changes happen at the Job Master in prontera 152,192. Head to [job-master.md](/wiki/jobs-and-classes/job-master.md) for the level requirements and rules, or [free-job-gear.md](/wiki/jobs-and-classes/free-job-gear.md) for the gear you get on each change.
